The Galaxy S8 stepped up its game by going bezel-less and elongating the displays. It has a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display, 2960 x 1440 pixels, and 83.6% screen to body ratio. The iPhone X has a 5.8-inch 18.5:9 True Tone OLED display, 2436 x 1125 pixels, and 82.9%, screen-to-body ratio. Samsung has a higher resolution (though it defaults to 1080p out the box) and higher brightness too.

Galaxy S8 has a higher screen to body ratio because it doesn’t have a notch like iPhone X does. The notch has the Face ID, a facial recognition system that is the highlight of iPhone X. The iPhone X also has a True Tone display. It responds to environmental light so the color is always accurate on the display. The iPhone X is 5.65 x 2.79 x 0.30 in and weighs 174g. The Galaxy S8 is 5.86 x 2.68 x 0.31-inch and weighs 155g.
The iPhone X has two 12MP back cameras with F / 1.8 and F / 2.4. F/2.4. allows for a 2X optical zoom. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has a single 12 MP camera with F / 1.7 aperture. Both the phones have optically stabilized back cameras.

During the day, both iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S8 take great pictures. However, if you analyze the pictures in detail, you will see that Galaxy S8 has more contrast and the colors are more vivid but less natural. On the other hand, iPhone X has more colors but they are slightly dull. In contrast, the light suffers from lens flare.

Galaxy S8 is missing the lens with the 2X optical zoom that iPhone X can count on. It is present on Galaxy Note 8 though. Thanks to the double sensors, the portrait function is greatly improved, especially in low light conditions. Some additional features are still in the beta feature so they do not work so well right now.

Galaxy S8 was introduced with a price tag of 829 euros, but now you can find it online between 500 and 530 euros. Store prices have not reduced a lot. The starting price of iPhone X is 1189 euros, which is double the price of Galaxy S8.
