Specifically, the agency published a whole series of new model numbers that have not yet appeared in the context of iPhones or iPads. The EEC expressly speaks of smartphones. In addition, the authority also mentions that the devices should run Apple’s iOS 11. The new Apple devices mentioned by the EEC have the model numbers A1920, A1921, A1984, A2097, A2098, A2099, A2101, A2103, A2104, A2105, and A2106. Not a single one of these terms have been used for an Apple product so far, suggesting they are completely new models.

Of course, the release by the Eastern European authority is causing a lot of speculation. The focus is on the possibility that the numerous rumors about the upcoming launch of a smaller new iPhone for beginners seem to be true. However, an influential analyst recently had doubts that Apple is actually planning a new iPhone SE. It is also conceivable that Apple is currently planning the introduction of new color variants, but the model numbers of Apple usually stand for certain hardware variants, but not for different colors.
